We are a creative organisation sharing authentic stories through combined arts
B.Carter, Neighbourhood Officer,
Big News!
We are launching a new youth collective in North Manchester this March. A creative space for local young people (aged 18-27) to collaborate, watch live performances and meet local decision makers. Sessions will run weekly every Monday night for three months, 17:30-19:30 - The Simpson Memorial Hall, Moston.
On Friday 18th March 2022, we held an event at AJs Academy, Moston to conclude the initial research and development stage of our new show, Census. We had live music, poetry and art on display alongside food and huge community spirit. Thank you so much to everyone that came down.
Alright, be honest: what good are the arts? What do they mean? What are they for? Do you and your community need the arts – or want them? Arty Farty is the latest instalment of Manchester International Festival's micro-international festivals created and streamed from home by Greater Manchester artists.
A live theatre piece commemorating and celebrating the history of Bradford pit and the people that contributed to its story. Be transported back to the mines as we share real life interviews of those that worked the mines alongside projection and live theatre. Supported by Manchester City Council.
We only went and won!
Census, Best Performance at the Manchester Culture Awards 2024!
Census is such an important show to us and to everyone involved in the creation of it. We worked tirelessly on this process to make a show that shares the stories of our area and other working class areas across the UK.
A huge thank you to all of our friends and community members across North Manchester who featured in the show. To our fabulous producer Roxy D.M, Dramaturge and long time supporter Kate Bradnam, Contact for initially commissioning us along with hÅb who continually support us.
Thank you
A celebration of working-class history and identity.
The show presents a powerful mix of autobiographical material; alongside the abundant lived experience of community members, to ignite local pride, and much-needed conversations.
Miniature statues of current local legends will be placed across Ancoats this August. The trail will take you over cobbled streets, to historical buildings and through parts of Ancoats you’ve maybe never seen before. Accompanied by a unique audio piece featuring voices from the Ancoats community.
