THE NORTH MANCHESTER YOUTH COLLECTIVE

     We are the North Manchester Youth Collective, a group of under-30s living and creating in North Manchester. 

Founded in March 2025, this has been a passion project, bridging the gap between our community and the cultural centres and activities in the city centre. We have met as a group every week, pushing ourselves to create new pieces of work, discuss local issues, and harness audacity as a creative force. We meet every week on Moston Lane at the Simpson Memorial Hall.

Our first public event explored boredom and the benefits of being bored in a non-stop world. Dare to Be Bored is an intimate, vibrant exploration of class, opportunity, and creativity, performed by some of the most ambitious and fiercely talented young artists in North Manchester. 

What might happen when we dare to do... nothing? 

With thanks to our funders and the support we have received locally: HOME has supported us with artist masterclasses, Contact has provided ongoing support and technical expertise for the evening, and we are hugely grateful to have received, Building Stronger Communities Together Fund, and the MCC Youth Development Fund to make this all possible. 

Thanks to The Simpson Memorial Hall, home of our NMYC, and to Harpurhey Neighbourhood Centre and No. 93 for offering rehearsal space.
